the Zwei-Burgen-route connects several castles in the district of Darmstadt. today we travel to the Eastern part, the red fortress of Breuberg. for the fans of "game of thrones" it is a live illustration and the opportunity to feel inside the movie. for the rest of us - just a weekend family hiking in the early spring.

машрут Zwei-Burgen-Wanderweg соединяет несколько замков в районе Дармштадта. сегодня мы отправляемся в его восточную часть, красную крепость Бройберг. любителям "игры престолов" тут - живая иллюстрация и возможность почувствовать себя внутри кино. для нас, остальных - просто семейный поход выходного дня в самом начале весны.

we Park a bit away, near the clinic on the Ernst-Ludwig-Strasse. we have to climb up the road past houses in the "Ah-Oh-my-God-how-cute"-style.

мы паркуемся подальше, возле клиники на улице Ernst-Ludwig-Strasse. отсюда надо подняться вверх по дороге мимо домиков в стиле "ах-боже-мой-как-мило"

"Alte Frankfurter Strasse" goes through the forest, it is wide and straight as autobahn. we dont have to watch where we are going, so we look at birds houses. and discuss why some trees have their bark so smooth as after Turkish bath peeling, while others have such deep wrinkles?

"Alte Frankfurter Strasse" идет по лесу широкая и прямая, как автобан. смотреть под ноги не нужно, поэтому мы разглядываем домики-бункеры для птиц. и обсуждаем, почему у некоторых деревьев кора гладкая, как после пилинга в турецкой бане, а у других - в глубоких морщинах?

finally we are inside the fortress. Breuberg, of course, has many centuries on its back. it passed from hand to hand, was countless times rebuilt and strengthened.

наконец мы внутри крепости. Бройберг, само собой, имеет много веков за плечами. он переходил из рук в руки, бесчисленное количество раз перестраивался и укреплялся.

in the WW2 the citizens of the Soviet Union were forced to work here.

во второй мировой здесь трудились угнанные на принудительные работы жители Советсткого Союза.

your children are unlikely to be interested in that. but they surely will like to climb the walls and knock on the medieval doors. for them, it is almost the same era when dinosaurs lived on earth, and grandparents were young.

но вашим детям это вряд ли будет интересно, зато им понравится лазить по стенам и стучать в средневековые двери. для них это практически та же эпоха, когда на земле жили динозавры, а бабушка и дедушка были маленькими.
